Certificate of Accomplishment for SYF in 2017

I was thankful to be able to be exposed to external events as well, such as the Choir Leadership Camp hosted by the Singapore Chinese Cultural Centre (SCCC) over the course of 3 days. In the 3 days that I was there, I met student leaders from choirs all over Singapore schools and worked together in choir sections to produce a showcase at the end of the camp. It turned out so well, and I left the place discovering new friendships and experiencing being an emcee for the first time, it was truly enriching.

There were downs in my time here as well, where challenges were faced as a Chairperson in the choir. I had to manage many expectations and ensure that the choir and the executive committee are well taken care of, and at the same time, juggle with my studies in preparation for O-Levels.

However, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything else as it has made me to be the person I am today. Through this, I have learned to persist through difficult moments and manage my time well, all while giving nothing short of my best.

Back in Secondary school, I was part of the school choir, Quest Choir. Through the years, I have had the opportunity to attend the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) twice, once in 2017 and another in 2019, both attaining a Certificate of Accomplishment.

In my steadfast commitment to the choir, I had the honour to be picked as Chairperson in Secondary 3, to be part of the executive committee team. The role had enabled me to develop my leadership and communication skills, having to work with the rest of my executive committee and manage the choir. I also managed to plan for camps for the choir, working together with the teachers and student leaders to do so.
