Vietnam Cultural Trip: VIA Leaders Learning Programme

5-Day-4-Night Overseas Trip 

​

  • Went to a local primary school and interacted with the children there, planned and executed tele-match games and painted a badminton court

​

  • Visited the Thien Phuoc Children Orphanage where children (4-6 years old) were affected by Agent Orange during World War II (Children had physical deformities and developmental problems)

    • Fed the children and played with them​

    • Cleaned their play equipments for them

I went on a 5D4N Leaders Learning Programme in Vietnam with my school's CCA leaders and teachers to volunteer. We went to a local primary school and interacted with the children there, planned and executed tele-match games and painted a badminton court from scratch in their school.
We visited the Thien Phuoc Children Orphanage where children from 4-6 years old were affected by Agent Orange during World War II (Children had physical deformities and developmental problems). We were able to experience simple caregiving routines like feeding, and playing with the children. We were able to clean their play equipment for them as a team as well.

Church Without Walls (CWW) Labour Day Carnival | City Harvest Church

April 2022 - June 2022

This carnival's aim was to give these migrant workers a sense of community and reach out to their loved ones back in their hometown by sending letters and decorated framed photos on their behalf. It was also held to allow our fellow workers to have a day for us to appreciate them and for them to enjoy themselves after all the hard work they've put in for our country.

I was involved in planning for an art booth as part of a Labor Day Carnival in my church's movement called 'Church Without Walls (CWW)', reaching out to migrant workers. From preparation of materials for the booths to hosting the migrant workers at the art and letter-writing booth.
