Sunflower Preschool @ Punggol Field Walk
February 2022 - August 2022
During my 6-month Student Internship Programme, I was placed at Sunflower Preschool @ Punggol Field Walk. Overall, the time I spent here grew me a lot as an aspiring educator and in my perseverance. My mentor and teachers at the centre gave me many opportunities to take the lead and learn from being on the ground and guided me along the way. Although it was tough initially, I have been trained to adapt easily, as I was always being placed with different age groups to gain exposure and experience. It was challenging to figure out classroom management for the different age groups, but over time, I started to get the hang of it, developing problem-solving skills and classroom management.
6-Month Student Internship Programme

Through tasks that were given to me by my mentor, my creativity and time management were put to the test. However, my mentor and I were always helping each other out in managing the K1 class (my host class) and working together to add more value to the children's day-to-day activities. I was inspired by her, and that has taught me to plan for activities that are intentional and meaningful for children's development.
I have gained greatly from assignment deliverables as well. From having to design lesson plans, take-home kits, and teaching aids, I learnt to cater to children's abilities and needs through observation and reflection. Once, my intern buddy and I had to plan a field trip from scratch with the help of our centre admin, and the experience has groomed our interpersonal skills and teamwork through the process of planning for all areas of the event.
All in all, it was an enriching time here, and I have taken a lot from this experience.

PCF Sparkletots @ Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru Blk 125 (CC)
Novemeber 2021 - December 2021
I was attached to PCF Sparkletots @ Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru Blk 125 (CC) during my Year 2 Practicum. My time here was really enjoyable and fruitful, and the teachers were a joy to work with.
I was able to plan and implement lessons, as well as design learning corner activities. Since it was my first time carrying out lessons, my mentor was really helpful in providing constructive feedback and suggestions. Along the way, I utilised observational skills to pick up classroom management skills from my mentor to help me in my lesson implementations.
I have also been given opportunities to assist the teachers in decorating the classroom spaces for a new term, and forged good relationships with the teachers in the centre.
Bethel Day Care Centre
August 2020
In Year 1, I was attached to Bethel Day Care Centre, where I managed to observe the daily routines of childcare and teaching practices for the first time. I learned much from the interactions with Nursery 2 children (my host class) and observed how my teachers managed the class during lessons.
Overall, it was a good first experience and my time spent here grew my passion to be in this industry.

Content Creator | Lemon8
August 2022 - Present
During my holidays after my Student Internship Programme, I got the opportunity to create content for Lemon8, which is a relatively new platform with a youthful community to share content. From this freelance job, I learn to manage my time well and spread the number of posts that are required of me to accomplish. It has also challenged me in my creativity as I always have to churn out ideas for my next post and be on the lookout for content I can post. However, I enjoy seeing my ideas come to fruition and I feel a great sense of reward once a post is complete. At the same time, I am developing my time management and interpersonal skills as I learn to build connections on the platform as well.
Service Staff | Yolé
November 2019 - February 2020
After the completion of my GCE O-Levels, I wanted to make use of my time during the long holidays to gain work experience. At Yole, which is a frozen yoghurt franchise, I have had the chance to learn how a store works, from preparing the yoghurt bases to re-stocking the toppings and serving customers. This experience has built my confidence in customer service and developed my interpersonal and problem-solving skills. I have also had experience in cash handling while doing closing shifts, to make sure that the amount tallies at the end of the day, enhancing my sense of responsibility.
